Sedona Sister Cities to Celebrate Canada Day and America’s 250th Anniversary
The Sedona Sister Cities Association invites members, friends, and guests to a special international celebration honoring Canada Day and the 250th Anniversary of the United States on Tuesday, July 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Decanter Tasting Room, SR 179 & Ridge Trail Drive, Village of Oak Creek.
This marks the second consecutive year Sedona Sister City members have celebrated the growing Sister City relationship between Sedona, Arizona and Canmore, Alberta, Canada. This year’s gathering carries added significance as participants also recognize the historic 250th anniversary of the United States.
The free community event will celebrate the enduring value of friendship, cooperation, and people-to-people diplomacy across borders. “Sedona’s relationship with Canmore reflects the very best of the Sister City movement — building understanding, friendships, and meaningful community connections,” said Don Groves, Chair of the Canmore/Sedona Sister City Committee. “This year, it is especially fitting that we celebrate both Canada Day and America’s 250th anniversary while recognizing the strength of relationships within our communities and across national boundaries.”
The event is free and open to all Sister City members and guests. Attendees are invited to enjoy an evening of fellowship, conversation, and celebration of international friendship.
Registration is requested at sedonasistercities.org.
